I found a brochure for Shire’s Luckiest Loser on the counter in Gymea Pub. I decided to give it a go, as I had extreme high blood pressure.
When I went to see Mike Evans at MEFIT personal training, he made me feel welcome and we discussed the best way for me to achieve my goals, including exercise and diet plans.
At the completion of the 12 week challenge, I had lost 22.9kgs, and had never felt better! I was wearing jeans in a size 97, down from the 102 I had been.
My regime was that I walked 2-5kms a day on the treadmill and along the esplanade at Cronulla. I attended Boxercise classes and had 3 1hr personal training sessions with Mike. I added fruit twice a day and breakfast cereal, to my diet, both of which I had never eaten before. I cut out bread and margarine, soft drinks, lollies and cakes and I drank a minimum of 2 litres of water everyday, and no beer!!
I was surprisingly shocked at how easy it can be!
My girlfriend Julie was a great support to me, and pushed me along the way. She cooked all the best meals for me, with plenty of vegetables including sweet potato, but we cut out any pastas or normal potato. She made sure I never felt hungry.
Mike was always on hand and keen to help out with any advice or encouragement. I always found him to be spot on!
Healthy diet and exercise is the secret!
